There are days that fronting up in my business is down right exhausting!
Last Friday night, I was out and about with friends, enjoying pizzas in a popular Lower Hutt seaside location. It was a stunning evening, and as the sun set, we took images of it setting over the water. We were also catching up after our Summer holidays! It was simple, relaxing, and a great way to finish up the week.
Roll forward 10 hours later as I came home from ED with a broken nose, blood all over my clothes, and feeling downright awful—Concrete 1/ Face 0. A simple walk to the car ended up with me face-planting, and my plans for the following week were put on hold!
Monday morning, and I headed into my office. My eyes were black and any accidental bump of the nose made my eyes water! I looked a dreadful sight, and to be honest was downright FUCKED OFF. I had planned a handful of networking meetings for the week - was ready to kick into my year and launch my business coaching programme.
The point of telling you all of this is that Shit happens, and sometimes we just have to front up despite how we are feeling. I used the healing week as a time to catch up on some admin and answer overdue emails stacked in my too-hard pile! The last week has been a time of reflecting and healing and after a tumultuous 12 months, the universe was just telling me to chill and take some more time off to plan and reflect.
Did it suit me… NO
Did I front up… YES
In business, as in life, sometimes we faceplant, and we have to change direction for a bit and regroup. And that’s OK!
